Advancing Aviation Research through Science and technology Partnerships

The National Aviation Academy of the Philippines (NAAP) met with the Department of Science and Technology–Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) on October 8, 2026, to explore potential areas of collaboration in aviation education, research, and technological innovation.
The meeting also included an ocular visit to DOST-MIRDC’s Non-Destructive Testing, Materials Testing, and Advanced Manufacturing facilities, showcasing capabilities that could support future academic, technical, and research initiatives.
Through this potential partnership, NAAP could strengthen its aviation research, enhance hands-on learning opportunities, and expose students and faculty to advanced testing and manufacturing technologies. Meanwhile, DOST-MIRDC could expand collaboration with the academe in developing research initiatives, nurturing technical talent, and advancing science, technology, and innovation in the country.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to bridging education and industry expertise to help develop innovative solutions and strengthen the Philippines’ aviation and science and technology sectors
