Academic Policies

REGISTRATION POLICY

  • Registration shall be done during the regular registration period as indicated in the approved academic calendar. No student shall be registered in any subject after 12% of the regular class meeting had been held.
  • Only students who are officially registered shall be given credit for his college work.
  • A student who is disqualified for FHE is considered officially enrolled after payment of his tuition and matriculation fee, either cash or installment basis.
  • Enrollment of a student in two different courses during his stay in the college is strictly prohibited.
  • Rules on sequencing of subject and prerequisites should be observed and followed strictly.
  • A late enrolment fee is charged of every student who enrolls after the regular enrolment.
  • Admission slip / clearance are enrolment requirements for old students.
  • Registration of a returning student is dependent on his previous scholastic standing and upon payment of his outstanding accounts.

EXCEPTIONS TO FREE HIGHER EDUCATION

  • Students who have already attained a bachelor’s degree or comparable undergraduate degree from any Higher Educational Institution (HEI), whether public or private
  • Students who fail to comply with the admission and retention policies of the SUC or LUC
  • Students who fail to complete their bachelor’s degree or comparable undergraduate degree within a year after the period prescribed in their program (5 years for BS, 3 years for Assoc)

POLICY ON DROPPING/ WITHDRAWAL

  • Dropping a subject before the mid-term is allowed, after which no dropping is permitted except for valid and justifiable reasons. Unofficial dropping before and after the midterm examination a failing grade or 5.0 is given.
  • A withdrawing student may be allowed to withdraw the credentials he submitted for registration with in (1) month after start of classes.

RETENTION POLICY

Pursuant to BOT Resolution No. 406, Series  2020

  • Final Grade of 5.00, FA, UD and INC/5.00 are counted as failed
  • Any student who has received two consecutive warnings shall be placed on probation.
  • Probation status may be lifted upon passing all the subjects enrolled during the term of probation.
  • A student under probation who fails in 50% or more of the total academic units enrolled will be dismissed from the College.
  • An undergraduate student must finish the requirements of a course within the period of actual residence equivalent to a maximum of one and one-half of the normal length prescribed for the course; otherwise he may not be allowed to enroll in the same course. (6 years for BS, 3 years for Assoc.)
